My Journey

I completed my undergraduate studies in psychology at the University of Valencia, Spain (2009–2013). I then moved to Finland to study a master’s degree in sport and exercise psychology at the University of Jyväskylä (2014–2016). Following this, I pursued a PhD in physical activity and public health at the University of Southern Queensland, Australia (2017–2021), where I developed and piloted a theory-based intervention to reduce sedentary behaviour in university students.

After submitting my PhD thesis, I joined the University College London (2020–2021) as a research fellow to work on the Human Behaviour-Change Project. This initiative brought together behavioural and computer scientists to create an ontology-based artificial intelligence system that continually scans and synthesises the scientific literature on behaviour change interventions.

Since 2022 I am affiliated with the Future Health Technologies programme at the Singapore-ETH Centre, where I have contributed to the development of “LvL UP” – a mobile health lifestyle intervention aimed at the prevention of non-communicable diseases and common mental disorders. I am currently leading LvL UP’s optimisation and evaluation through a sequential, multiple-assignment, randomised controlled trial.
